The Role:
Fircroft are currently working on behalf of a world leading Oil & Gas organisation and we are now looking for a Rig Maintenance Specialist to be based in Azerbaijan on a 28 / 28 shift rotation basis.

The Rig Maintenance Specialist will report directly to the Rig Asset Management Maintenance Lead and is key member of the Rig Asset Management Team. The Rig Maintenance Specialist has expertise within the D&C Engineering discipline and is the primary source of technical advice to the Technical Authorities - Engineering, the Wells Managers and the SPU Engineering Authority.
The Rig Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for the oversight of repair, maintenance and optimization of rig equipment in collaboration with the Drilling Contractor, Equipment suppliers etc.
The Rig Maintenance Specialist will assess the processes and systems in place, and to interface with the rig crews on potential improvements.

• Serve as a Technical Specialist for drilling rig and equipment.
• Advise the Wells Manager and Engineering Authority on issues relating to technical integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Be the resident technical expert on the rigs and rig equipment for each company, or Contractor, rig working in Azerbaijan.
• Review and consult on all relevant MoC’s relating to their work fronts.
• Identify weaknesses and inefficiencies in the current rig systems and equipment, and recommend cost effective repairs / upgrades / replacements as identified by studies.
• Monitor, coordinate and ensure scheduled preventive maintenance is compliant with timing and standards, both SCE and standard equipment. Ensure and challenge scheduled preventive maintenance and schedules to align with the business cost and production strategies. Prioritize safety critical issues and implement expedient solutions.
• Interface closely with Vendors/Suppliers and Drilling Contractor to implement agreed solutions and optimizations.
• Interface with other company functions as per the company Facilities Interface Maintenance document
• Manage factory acceptance tests (FATs) and QA/QC of all new rig equipment for existing rigs.
• Manage and ensure compliance with the company and industry standards for rig maintenance and rig equipment for all the company rig units.
• Participate in regular audits/reviews, MOF’s and Incident Investigations in relation to compliance to rig maintenance standards.
• Be responsible for the documented close out of all rig maintenance / equipment related audits and support the Operational Teams on all audit close out actions as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Diploma in Engineering or other related Technical discipline
• Minimum 10 yrs maintenance experience with Major Oil Company/Major Drilling Contractor/ Marine transport or combination of.
• Minimum 5 years Experience of Maintenance Management System
• Supervisory experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering Degree (BSc or equivalent)
• Experience of developing and implementation maintenance strategies.
• New build facilities experience
• Rig Audit experience
