The Company:
Our Client is a high profile international oil and gas field services company, operating an established contract drilling and well servicing business to oil and gas exploration and production company’s globally. Within the Surat Basin they provide contract drilling services to Coal Seam Gas (CSG) Owner/Operators, operating under the mandate that no job is so important that it cannot be done safely and without adverse environmental impact.

The Role:
- 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off FIFO roster (Surat Basin)
- Highly competitive remuneration
- Five weeks annual leave

Reporting to the Rig Superintendent and supervising all rig crew members, you will direct the operations of the drill rig, coordinate the affairs of the Operating Company (Client), complete all required daily reports, and order necessary supplies. Your other key duties will include:

- Ensure compliance with safety requirements on the rig as Site safety Manager, respond to any emergency situations, and coordinate the rig crew to mitigate the risk of any adverse situations;
- Keep the Superintendent updated on operations, inspect for hazards and conduct regular inspections of all lifesaving and safety equipment;
- Plan rig activities including repairs, daily maintenance of drilling fluids, rigging up or down; and
- Order rig supplies, parts and materials anticipating and requisitioning each item so that required items are available when required.

As an experienced onshore Rig Manager, your well control skills are well developed and you are experienced in sustaining the upkeep of rig equipment, identifying improvements and maintaining paperwork. Your crew leadership skills are excellent, and you hold relevant qualifications such as Cert IV or Diploma in Drilling Oil & Gas Onshore, IWCF, and BOP.
