The Company:
Our client, a major Oil and Gas operator, are looking for a Rig Project Engineer to join their team on a 7/3 rotation.

The Role:
To effectively manage and co-ordinate brownfield rig modifications from Initiation through to Concept Select and handover to another Company team for detailed design and execution.

Key Responsibilities:
• Taking overall ownership of the assigned projects.
• As such, demonstrably incorporate HSE in the job and assigned projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in the team and in project management
• Aligning project objectives to those of the company
• Ensuring consistent compliance with contractual requirements.
• Management of incumbent contractor, ensuring contractor maintains focus on agreed deliverables with regard to, HSE, quality, engineering, constructability, commissioning, and final handover requirements.
• Proactively participate in development of project plans and budget setting.
• Monitoring of planning, scheduling, cost control and information management.
• Actively contribute and encourage continuous improvement and technical innovations for project success.
• Schedule, manage and participate in Project kick-off and coordination meetings.
• Ensure project goals and responsibilities are clearly defined to all contributors.
• Ensure priorities of individual projects in the larger project portfolio are agreed with stakeholders, documented and taken through corporate ranking exercises.
• Effective cost and progress management and reporting methods and procedures consistent with contract requirements and ensure delivery in a timely manner.
• Receipt and distribution of all relevant technical and project progress communications, provision of instruction and guidance where required.
• Demonstrate leadership in technical improvement and innovations that demonstrate improved performance, cost saving and business efficiency improvements, delivering optimum commercial performance.
• Review, record and report project performance, maintaining focus on performance improvement, whilst ensuring any underperforming is quickly identified and mitigated for.
• Clear and effective lines of communication, ensuring lessons learned are captured and used where applicable.
• Effective management of project interfaces.
• Prepare and present Tender Board and Decision Review Board notes as required.
• Execution of single and multi-discipline engineering studies and projects.
• Preparation of progress reports, technical reports, and meeting minutes.
• Participate in Company appraisal scheme, Goals and Performance Agreement (GPA)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience in the complete project cycle, including Concept Select, Design Engineering (FEED/Concept/Constructability) and project execution including:
• Management and interfacing skills and experience
• Ability to think in concepts and alternatives rather than only in complete engineered solutions
• Understanding of deliverables required to progress concepts
• High degree of computer literacy
• Proven ability to work as an effective team leader and player.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Relevant technical/PM qualification (Degree, HND/HNC) or professional international equivalent.
• Candidates without the above formal qualifications may be considered if they can demonstrate significant experience in a similar role as described.
