The Company:
Our Client is a global leader in the supply of facilities and services for the development and production of offshore oil and gas fields as well as the systems relevant to mooring technology. Due to rapid growth they require the best engineers available to support their operations world wide.

The Role:
My client is currently looking for a Rigging Superintendent to work on an 8/3 in Angola.

Rigging Superintendent will be working in onshore based oilfield fabrication company reporting to the Fabrication Manager and will perform but not be limited to the following functions;

To be wholly responsible for the upkeep of inspections and certification of lifting equipment
To be responsible for the upkeep of the Rigging Equipment Register
Strong knowledge and understanding of Quality Management Systems and be prepared to adhere to the systems that are in place within the organisation
Must be capable of deployment and supervision of a multi-discipline workforce of up to 100 personnel comprising riggers, crane and equipment operators
Must be willing and able to provide an efficient service to the end user departments within the fabrication yard by efficient planning and deployment of manpower and equipment
Must be capable of assigning equipment and personnel to ensure maximum productivity and minimum downtime
Ability to evaluate and improve the skills of the workforce and to be capable of performing written annual appraisals of all subordinates within the work group
The applicant should have the ability to deal with extraordinary situations and be able to make quick and effective decisions without hesitation

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of 10-12 years post apprenticeship experience in construction industry
Must be fluent in spoken and written English language
Preferred to have had experience working in West Africa in a similar capacity
Time-served apprenticeship as a rigger in a fabrication yard
Minimum qualification; City & Guilds or Diploma
Must be have proven and extensive knowledge of international codes and specifications covering rigging and lifting operations
Must be able to assist/advise during the preparation of Lifting Studies and Rigging plans to ensure conformance with safe working and good working practice

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally should also have a working knowledge of the expectations of major oil companies.
Knowledge of rigging activities required during the fabrication of offshore structures (modules, topsides, jackets, bridges, flare towers, etc.), FPSO’s, CALM buoys, Subsea Structures and have the ability to safely execute flip-overs, roll-ups, float-overs, topside deck stacking, load outs and associated activities.
