The Role:
Reporting to the Portfolio Risk and Organisational Learning Lead within the Assurance function of North Sea Region Projects Team (NSRPT), the Risk Champion will be responsible ensuring project compliance with company Risk Management principles.

The role will include, but is not limited to, quality assurance of project risk management activity, provision of timely and accurate risk management information, provision of risk management guidance/coaching and leveraging lessons learned to improve work processes and procedures.

• Ensure consistent and systematic project team compliance with the company Risk Management Practice.
• Deliver robust facilitation of project risk management workshops that align to the CVP stage, focus decisions and provide holistic
solutions.
• Ensure project risks are rigorously managed and integrated with other project management work processes.
• Maintain and monitor project KPIs to track risk management status, identify areas of focus and facilitate continuous
improvement.
• Quality assurance of data and information held within the Risk Management system for the project.
• Ensure the right people are involved throughout the risk management process and work with EPMS contractor to implement risk
management best practice.
• Coach and mentor project managers on risk management.
• Execute the Risk Champion requirements as outlined in the company Risk Management practice.
• Risk Planning: Facilitate the planning process, Create and maintain the risk management plan, Create and maintain the risk
register.
• Risk Identification: Facilitate risk identification process (e.g. provide means, guidance, leadership to Project personnel and
ensure delivery).
• Risk Assessment: Facilitate assessment and update register.
• Risk Response: Update risk register, ensure risk action plan is clear, timely and achievable.
• Monitoring and controlling risk: Make sure risk and response plans are being monitored. Prepare material for governance
meetings.
• Risk Learning and Closure: facilitate identification of potential learning’s on project. Enter potential lessons learned into the Local
Learning System.
• Risk Governance: Provide performance management data on Risk Management.
• Manage the delivery of other risk and organisational learning activity as required by the Portfolio Risk and Organisational
Learning Lead.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A thorough understanding of the basic principles of risk management and control.
• Experience utilizing project risk systems and identifying root causes.
• Demonstrable familiarity with requirements of major project delivery processes, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Demonstrable experience in engaging with multiple stakeholders to deliver risk management solutions.
• Excellent written and spoken communication and influencing skills, across the whole Organisation.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Brownfield Projects experience.
• Experience working with engineering and construction contractors on projects in the oil and gas sector.
• Experience in project and process safety management processes.
• Experience in operating a management of change process.
• University Degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience.
