The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Robustness test role involves hands on vehicle data processing from testing at a number of test sites in the UK & around the world. At these sites our clients vehicles are subjected to a number of different test regimes specifically selected to assess the robustness of the Powertrain. Testing is predominantly UK based but with occasional overseas testing High Speed at Nardo or Nurburgring & durability testing in Dubai and Sweden. Whilst being responsible for the planning & monitoring of tests, a key requirement is the ability to process data generated by vehicles & effectively manage & communicate findings from this data to the system owners within PT as well as the wider engineering community. Often working remotely, the role demands a good knowledge of automotive systems & technology & a strong electrical, calibration and diagnostic capability as well DIADEM and vehicle data logging experience.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:
Knowledge of DIADEM and Vehicle data logging, ECM & calibration
Preparation of vehicles for data logging and investigation/management of data logging issues
Ownership of report writing and issuing weekly reports and status of vehicles on test including those overseas

Knowledge of engine systems and whole vehicle testing of saloons and 4x4 vehicles.
Ability to conduct vehicle test & evaluations.
Ability to write requirements, test procedures, risk assessments and test reports
Ability to investigate root cause of issues.
Ability to communicate complex issues Experienced in the use of software diagnostic tools, measuring equipment and data logging.
Ability to improve the diagnostic capability of the department and share knowledge.
Demonstrable sound engineering background with experience and knowledge of automotive system functionality and software diagnostic systems
Experience and knowledge of durability/reliability testing.
Experience in investigation and root cause analysis of complex technical issues to develop better methods
Have a current working level knowledge of Powertrain & Vehicle systems, product development processes and PCDS principles in order to drive implementation of robustness testing and method development activity
Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and a 'passion for the product' are personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment, being self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision
Qualified to degree level, computer literate in Google, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Project.
The role will require regular inter-site travel therefore, it is expected that candidates will hold a valid UK Drivers licence and have the ability to support overseas testing programmes
