Our client is a leading oil and gas company.

The Role:
Role synopsis
•As the Deputy Rotating Equipment Manager, you will be a member of the project M&R Rotating Team in charge of process rotating equipment including Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Generators and Fans.
The team has primary responsibility for the Life Cycle Management of the assets’ rotating equipment. In addition, you will lead reliability improvement efforts and provide support and direction in completing repairs to rotating equipment or systems.
•Maximize uptime and reduce business losses associated with all Rotating Equipment
• Support the introduction of practical condition and performance monitoring technologies to improve reliability and availability
•Manage main rotating equipment budget
•Recommend major rotating equipment overhaul strategy, interval and costs
•Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and recommend corrective actions

Key accountabilities

•Drives equipment reliability and availability through maintenance
•Ensures safe, reliable efficient planning of rotating equipment maintenance.
•Management and motivation of rotating equipment engineering specialists.
•Deployment of Unit Health Monitoring across field
•Drive production improvement for Operations through investigation of losses and deep understanding of rotating equipment performance.
•Engage workforce through understanding of rotating equipment and systems.
•Create information from data and feedback to update Maintenance strategy.
•Develop and own Operations Expense (OPEX) and Capital (CAPEX) budget for major rotating machinery.
•Deliver main equipment overhauls against agreed plans and costs.
•Develop National staff capability and ownership.
•Produce and Share lessons learned.
•Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Specific Equipment Plans for all production critical equipment, optimising preventative and predictive maintenance.
•Maintaining the list of Top 10 Defect Elimination Priorities for their area, and driving the associated improvement plan actions.
•Leading/facilitating RCFA investigations of larger production deferrals and breakdown events as dictated by the investigation trigger table.
•Performs reliability analysis developing metrics for equipment and system reliability.
•Improving critical system and equipment repair procedures and spares strategies. Developing and/or validating business cases for spares holding.
•Builds capability in functions and assets by:
o Facilitating and coaching RCFA and 5 Whys
o Leading and deploying Basic Care and Defect Elimination programmes that develops proactive defect elimination
o Reviews quality of Defect Elimination efforts and makes the appropriate intervention for continuous improvement

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Essential Education
- Bachelor of Science Degree or Engineering Degree in a Mechanical Discipline – Or Equivalent

Essential experience and job requirements
•Extensive experience in operations and maintenance in oil and gas production or processing facilities, preferably in a Middle East environment.
•Experience and proven track record in delivery of all aspects of rotating equipment maintenance and overhaul of rotating machinery.
•Proven track record of improving rotating equipment reliability and availability in a process facility.
•Experience with maintenance strategy development and its implementation in an operating facility.
•Strong HSE and regulatory compliance record.
•Strong interpersonal skills and experience influencing project teams and contractors.
•Strong teamwork and leadership skills and experience in working in multi-discipline and multi-national teams.
•Strong bias for action.
•Strong working experience in preventive and predictive maintenance and

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of processing facility equipment, maintenance practices, design guidelines and operating standards.
•Experience with emergency response.
•Experience with maintenance management of instrumentation, control and electrical systems.
•Good knowledge of planning/scheduling.
•Experience in external benchmarking of rotating equipment.
•Technical understanding of centrifugal and reciprocating machinery.
•Experience in operation and maintenance of centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals and associated seal support systems
•Experience in operation and maintenance of gas turbines – specifically Ruston TA1750 models
