The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
Principal Tasks:

- Under the direction of the Planning Leader, the Planner is responsible for the planning functions of routine maintenance activities within safe work practices and HSE guidelines.
- Utilizing best practices to assist with the development of preventative maintenance programs.
- Work with respective area Maintenance Leads & Operations Leads to develop high quality job packages for maintenance team.
- Develop detailed work plans; determine contracting requirements while interfacing with technical and operating departments.
- Develops work plans for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow for the efficient scheduling, assignment, and execution of maintenance work.
- Evaluates job feedback to improve future work.
- Works closely with the Scheduler, Analyst, and Maintenance and Operations Coordinators to determine work activities.
- Uses plant history, feedback and other technical information to include in current job plans.
- Procurement of materials and equipment as required.
- Develop strong relationships with all stakeholders & departments, ensuring alignment to the planning process.
- Provide input and maintain planning standards for maintenance.
- Visit job sites to scope HSE requirements, method of execution, resource management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:

- Millwright trade certificate

External Safety Training Prerequisites:

- OSSA Regional Orientation, CSTS, D&A Test, OSSA Confined Space

Skills and Experience Required:

- 2 – 3 years experience in a Maintenance Rotating Planning role.
- Maintenance background (Journeyman certification).
- Experience in planning for multiple crafts.
- Previous Planning/Scheduling experience involved in CMMS (central maintenance management systems). i.e. SAP Blueprint and/or J.D. Edwards planning systems an asset.
- Proficient in MS Word & Excel.
- Knowledge of maintenance business processes and best practices, roles of specific trades, and manufacturing processes in an Upgrader, Refinery or similar Petrochemical operation.
- Strong organizational and effective time management skills.
- Flexibility in managing changing priorities and ability to work with minimum supervision.
