The Company:
Our client is a global operator in the oil and gas sector.

The Role:
The Rotating Machinery and Packaged Equipment Engineer (RE) will work as part of the Development Team.
The RE will provide specialist technical support to the evolving project design and execution to support the Project, achieve goals and performance targets, including meeting all safety requirements.
As part of the Facilities Engineering team the RE shall provide technical specialist input and guidance to contractors during conceptual design development, detailed engineering and execution of the project through to commissioning.
Part of a small technical team this position is seen as the Technical Specialist within the function, although will retain access to a Technical Expert. RE will provide broad guidance and agree major deliverables with the team.
The RE will develop and deliver the project rotating and packaged equipment workscope in line with agreed performance contract and key performance indicators.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with project RE philosophies, specifications, design and delivery of the rotating and packaged equipment workscope.
• Ensure a cost management, planning and timely reporting process to the Facilities Team Leader is established for the rotating equipment scope and that it is operating effectively.
• Manage, or participate in, negotiations with contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and government bodies etc.
• Responsible for monitoring that the EPC Contractor achieves the desired standards and specifications in the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of all rotating equipment activities.
• Responsible for specific discipline input in to the design review/approval program in order to maximise plant safety, operability and maintainability.
• Ensure the safe installation and certification of all rotating machinery & packaged equipment within the project scope.
• Establish and manage the contracting strategy for rotating equipment and installation vendors and subsequently manage their performance.
• Participate in Hazops, Hazids and safety audits as required
• Responsible for ensuring EPC Contractor compliance with manufacturing, prefabrication and factory testing requirements.
• Responsible for pro actively managing a ‘no variation’ policy to minimise project schedule and budget overruns
• Responsible for monitoring EPC Contractor compliance with submissions to the Competent Authorities.
• Ensure the safe execution of any specialist transportation, installation or repair techniques utilised during the project.
• Accountable for the provision of on site technical support to the project's Construction Manager in areas of discipline responsibility.
• Accountable for the provision of on site technical support to the project's Commissioning Team Leaders in areas of discipline responsibility.
• Coach and develop national staff as part of Major Developments succession planning process.
• Provide guidance, training to operations staff during handover and transfer into operation phase.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree qualified.
