The Role:
The Safety Advisor is responsible for providing safety leadership for the project and ensure that the organization has the services, support and awareness needed to achieve project safety, OES, health, and emergency preparedness and response goals. This person leads efforts in development and implementation of Safety related deliverables in support of Client activities and schedule, stewardship of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental performance indicators and management of Safety related interfaces with internal and external stakeholders. The Safety Advisor is responsible for managing the activities of the Safety staff to optimize performance.

 Ensure stewardship of S&H performance indicators for Project & Corporate requirements, monitor results and continue to enhance.
 Interface with HSSE Manager as necessary to support Operations activities and identify/implement best practices and lessons learned.
 Stewardship of Safety, OES, EP&R Plans, Manuals and Guides.
 Lead development of HSSE deliverables and obtain functional endorsement.
 Coordinate interfaces with Government agencies/external stakeholders on HSSE, as directed.
 Provide Company leadership for safety, safety related MoC, OES, Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, and emergency preparedness and response issues associated with the Company Operations and related projects, coaching Managers and Supervisors as needed.
 Support Member and Non-Member company EP&R plans and implementation, providing feedback on interface with Client plans.
 Benchmark other industries for Best Practices in Health, Safety, Security and Environmental tools.
 Facilitate Health, Safety, Security and Environment Cold Eyes Reviews to help find improvement opportunities.
 Conduct Health, Safety, Security and Environment Training for Company staff and contractors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science.
 10+ years experience preferred, with prior project site experience in HSSE or project engineer disciplines.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
 Proven management and leadership skills.
 Able to coach.
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; persuasive with strong business perspective.
 Adaptable to changing priorities.
 Ability to assess, act on and provide for customer resource needs.
 Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and logistics practices.
 Experience in large projects or operations preferred.
 Knowledge of Company management systems.
 Able to work in team setting.
