The Company:

The Role:

The position would be covering the whole of the North East Region, so the candidate will need to be mobile.

The rate is negotiable, and there is a view of the Job going permanent for the right candidate.

This role will support the current Health and Safety team providing competent Health and Safety support and advice.

• Conduct, arrange and manage detailed independent workplace audits and inspections to fulfill the requirements of the audit/ inspection plans.
• Provide safety support and guidance to key contracts, ensuring that all work is carried out safely and in compliance with Client requirements.
• Implementation of Work Package Plans and Task Briefings, ensuring that all work is planned in a safe manner in accordance with client requirements.
• Conduct Health and Safety training in line with the requirements of the divisions training plan.
• Liaison with local management and employees to ensure the requirements of the Company H&S Management System are implemented and the objectives of our Zero Harm vision are met, as a minimum.
• The provision of advice on all Health and Safety issues to all client employees and subcontractors.
• Accident and incident investigation reporting as required by the division.
• The development of company risk assessments, H&S procedures, toolbox talks and their instructions.
• Actively contribute to the Company’s sustainability agenda and fulfil customer expectations by seeking sustainable solutions.

• Communication – Effectively communicate orally making thoughts, intentions and instructions clear and appropriately expresses own opinion.
• Influencing and Negotiating – Ability to influence the thinking of others, presents own point of view with conviction, builds relationships internally/ externally, identifies and nurtures external contacts who can contribute to the business and internal contacts who can help them achieve their job goals.
• Analysis and Problem Solving – Assesses at a basic level the risks associated with different solutions, uses past experience to prioritise problems to reach identified stages and solves more complex job specific problems with minimum supervision
• Developing Self and Others – Takes responsibility for advice given, develops others, seeks and gives constructive feedback, provides support for individuals when putting learning into practice and regularly reviews progress on development

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum of NEBOSH Certificate and working towards chartered membership of IOSH
• Previous experience in a Health and Safety role within the Industrial sector is essential. Experience on Nuclear sites would also be an advantage.
• A strong understanding of legislation and practical interpretation.
• A proven track record in delivery of training would be advantageous.
