The Company:
Our Client is a Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The Role:
Position Primary Objective:
Work with the existing safety risk team to provide specialist safety, risk, asset protection and loss prevention engineering competence to the offshore FEED and EPC scopes of work. Development of material for inclusion in the safety cases will be especially important.
This position will focus on the safety engineering aspects associated with the FPSO topsides. Experience with marine safety systems for FPSOs and semi-submursibles is seen as an advantageous but not essential.

Occupational Health and Safety:
Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. Ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times.
Work with colleagues to support Health & Safety programmes as a senior member of the PAA Department.

Leadership:
Develop and implement Safety Engineering, Loss Prevention and Asset Protection philosophies and processes applicable to the offshore facilities focussing on FPSO design safety.

Technical Expertise:
Review engineering designs produced by FEED / EPCM contractors and recommend amendments as necessary with respect to safety case development, regulatory approvals, loss prevention and asset protection.

Liaise with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to project safety, quality, integrity, environment, reliability & security across the onshore and offshore scopes of work.

Risk Management:
Ensure that safety and loss prevention engineering engages with and contributes to risk management of the project as whole

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years provision of safety engineering, loss prevention engineering and asset protection programmes for the development large oil & gas projects through FEED and EPCM contracting.
• Provision of safety engineering expertise for FPSO facilities.
• Experience with design of marine safety systems (semi-sub and FPSO) is considered an advantage
• Familiarity with the requirements of a safety case based regulatory regime.
• Liaison with 3rd party service providers.
• Exposure to engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning.
• Familiarity with current upstream technologies – sub-sea, CPF, FPSO, pipelines
• Leadership of HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Formal Safety Assessments, Quantitative Risk Assessments, Critical Item Assessments, Safety Cases, Safety Design Reviews.
