The Company:
Our Client is a major UK based Oil & Gas Operator, with Operations throughout the globe.

The Role:
The post holder will be part of the safety and operational risk audit team responsible for auditing entities against the company’s safety and operational standards and policies as well as local regulations.

Findings defining any gaps found will be made in order to assist audited entities to close gaps and to achieve Group targets for operational and safety performance.

• Prepare for each audit and the role(s) you have been assigned by completing the pre-read and preparing individual work plans based on the audit scope and Sampling and Testing plan. Actively demonstrate rigorous preparation during all auditing activities.
• Analyse evidence and develop findings and actions, supported by evidence, which clearly outline the gaps that exist between current practices and conformance with company requirements at the individual topic level and management system level. Lead the development of programme assessments based on evidence gathered during the audit.
• Influence the middle/senior level managers within the entity being audited, using appropriate communication and presentation techniques, to ensure understanding and acceptance of findings and enable appropriate actions to be written.
• Undertake specific audit and project roles aligned with your skill set as requested by team leader and audit leadership team.
• Lead by example to leverage both team and individual strengths. Identify the strengths of self and others and leverage those in ways which enhance the team delivery while, providing guidance and support as required.
• Maintain independence throughout the conduct of audit work. Hold all potential hypotheses as open until proven.
• Be recognised by all stakeholders as someone who can receive and act on sensitive information in an appropriate way.
• Develop and maintaining constructive relationships with business management and colleagues.

Roles are home based with large amounts of travel

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Strong background in operations and/or Mechanical/Electrical/Instrument/Marine engineering and/or projects and/or OSHA PSM.
• Specific detailed experience in several of the following areas in high risk industries is required; quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and management, management of change, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL studies, Control of Work, working with contractors, project management, inspection and maintenance or engineering design.
• Broad technical experience and advanced knowledge of own technical or professional discipline, and a working knowledge of other disciplines.
• Team player with excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to influence and motivate.
• Ability to balance competing priorities, create focus and drive issues to completion.

• Degree and/or professional qualification in relevant operationally focused discipline or substantial hands on operational experience in a major hazard environment.
• Significant relevant post qualif

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Understanding of how auditing delivers performance improvement.
• Some experience of HSSE or operations auditing would be useful.
• Knowledge of safety and operational management system.
