The Company:
Our client, a worldwide oil and gas operator requires an Safety and Risk Engineer to work on a variety projects both onshore and offshore. To be considered for the role, Candidates must have a strong HSE experience in oil and gas (upstream or downstream) or a similar ‘high-risk environment’ i.e. safety case regime.

The Role:
Key duties will include:

• Carry out Site visits to promote awareness
• Facilitate Risk Assessments for process and other modifications requiring detailed analysis.
• Maintain a strict watching brief over the Operations Safety Case
• Coordinate completion of FRCs, HSEC Management Standards self assessments
• Contribute to HSE Contractor Management System and ensure there is suitable risk assessment of Contractor Activities..
• Manage close-out of actions from Risk Assessments, self assessments and other HSE related systems.
• Monitor performance of Risk Engineering system and implement recommendations for system improvements.
• Provide support to site HSE Analysts as needed.
• Participate in incident/accident investigations, as needed.
• Arrange and co-ordinate Corporate HSE audits, as needed.
• Participate in emergency response and IMT exercises
• Provide function of Alternate PU Risk Champion.
• Facilitate communications with external regulatory bodies, as needed.
• Contribute to HSE assessment of tenders, as needed.
• Verification of critical controls for material risks

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering or Science Degree (preferably Chemical or Process Engineering; and Chartered)
• HSE Management
• Audit certification (peripheral)
• Risk Management Courses, e.g. IEC61511
• QRA, PHAST
• Technical Safety Engineering Courses, e.g., IEC61511
