The Company:
Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.
They are a growth company who can serve as a Sole Supplier, Joint Venture or Subcontractor. With a proven track record of delivering large scale complex projects they are a progressive and attractive company.

The Role:
We are currently sourcing a Safety & Risk Engineer to join our client's North West Office on a Staff or Contract basis to become part of an Oil & Gas project delivery team.

As part of a long term alliance with a major Oil & Gas client based in Kuwait our client are undertaking FEED and detail design to support major revamp and modification projects modernizing their client’s production facilities at Wafra. Typical projects include gas processing plant, water injection and water treatment facilities, steam injection pilot plant and automation upgrades.

The candidate will be a Safety & Risk Engineer with a proven track record in onshore oil and gas, refinery or petrochem projects and will be able to demonstrate a minimum of 3-4 projects experience of FEED and detail design. Good communication and presentation skills are essential. Some travel to Kuwait may be required.

Core Responsibilities:
To provide risk safety and loss prevention services to the project
To be responsible for team’s performance on projects in terms of technical and commercial.

Specific Accountabilities:
Hazard and Risk Management.
To identify the safety engineering scope of work from basis of design.
To be able to determine and estimate norms to conduct the scope of work.
To be able to raise a suite of project deliverables including procedures, design basis and execution plan & schedules of activities.
Interface with other discipline departments and with the client.
Conduct HAZID workshops.
Lead HAZOP workshops.
Safety Review.
Fire & Explosion Analysis.
Loss Prevention related studies.
Formal Safety Assessments.
Safety Critical Element & Performance Standards.
QRA.
Safety Case.
Reliability Studies, including FMEA and RAM.
SIL Assessments.
Design Requirements for Safety Systems.
Design Safety Reviews / Studies, Layout, EERA, ESSA, F&G, Dropped Object, Hazardous Area.
Active Fire Protection Design (or knowledge of).
Passive Fire Protection Design (or knowledge of).
Ability to identify and raise suite of project procedures & deliverables.
CTR Management & progress reporting, Estimation of work scopes & CTR.
To Determine the Major Accident Hazard events and to apply a formalised approach of hazard
management to identify and provide means of mitigation and reduction of such hazards.
To take ownership of and provide direction to engineers through ability to prepare and author full suite of project safety deliverables.
Manage a team of professional and technical people.
Liaise with the local community and other stakeholders on all consulting matters.
Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Safety & Risk Department Job Requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Chartered or working towards
Direct safety &risk experience in the oil and gas industry
Excellent technical communication and co-ordination skills.
