The Company:
A major Oil & Gas Operator located in Houston

The Role:
• Ensures that all work is being executed in safe manner in compliance with safety rules and regulation stipulated in the HES plan.
• Ensures all equipments to be used for specific activities at site are safe and in good working condition, and regular preventive maintenance of all machineries & equipment are done. Respective operators fill up daily inspection checklist of machine and equipment.
• Assists in establishing policy and developing, implementing, and influencing strategies, tactics, behavior and programs to ensure overall organizational performance in the areas of HES for employees and contractors.
• Monitors existing and proposed state and federal HES regulations applicable to the company’s present and planned exploration/production operations.
• Develops and implements preventive or corrective HES actions as required. • Participates in and ensures the quality of Upstream Development H&S risk assessments, Hazard ID and other safety engineering studies and processes.
• Liaises with project team and BU on processes including HES Risk Management and Process Safety Management (PSM). Support the roll out of PSM initiatives within Upstream Development as they occur.
• Ensures EPCM contractors embrace stakeholder expectations for H&S in design including Safety Case commitments/requirements Sr. Safety Engineer is responsible to ensure that process safety activities are incorporated into the project design. The Sr. Safety engineer will manage the completion of applicable HES risk management processes and ensure HES risks are identified, communicated to the project team, and ensure appropriate mitigation actions are utilized in project design. Activities will include the management of the HES risk register, coordinating the applicable risk workshops, developing the project HES Risk Management Plan, and ensuring compliance with JO Process Safety requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
BS Safety, Engineering or related technical degree
10 years of Safety and Risk experience with an exploration & production company required. as Sr. Safety Engineer - Process
• Expert knowledge and experience utilizing process safety tools and a broad background in HES engineering design, planning / budgeting and project cost control. • Experienced in the use of the Riskman2 risk assessment process
• Knowledge and experience of oil and gas production facilities, preferably with Middle Eastern experience.
• Capable of identifying HES concerns and risks during design reviews, SID reviews, 3-D model and material handling reviews, Fire Protection reviews, Emergency Response Plan development, and technical bid package reviews.
• Ability to work effectively between functional disciplines, enhancing team dynamics, and influencing decisions in diverse teamwork structures.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Preferred Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
