The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Safety & Risk Engineer for an Oil & Gas company to be based in the UK

Type of Position: Permanent

The Safety and Risk Engineer will stay updated of all Process Safety, Risk, Loss Prevention and Emergency Response legislations, regulations and associated industry standards and advises the company on these matters.

Identify hazards, evaluate risk, define worst case scenarios and develop emergency response preparedness and response plans. This includes developing and monitoring procedures; presenting training programs; participating and facilitating safety studies/activities, such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs and Risk Assessments.
The individual will be required to participate in a wide range of tasks, interacting with multiple disciplines on site.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
This role is open only to Candidates who are eligible to work in the UK/EU
Bachelors degree in chemical, loss prevention or safety engineering, preferably with an MSc degree. Extensive and varied process safety/loss prevention experience in the oil or gas processing industry.
Ideally supervisory experience.
Thorough knowledge of relevant national and international laws and standards applicable to the oil and gas industry
Highly computer literate, involving the regular use of database/spreadsheet/word processing and presentation software.
Experienced in using QRA software such as PHAST and HAZOP software.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
Detailed knowledge of UK fire and safety codes, recommended practices, standard and regulatory requirements (i.e., EPR, COMAH etc).
