The Company:
Our Client is one of the largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies in Europe.

The Role:
Embed environmental and social performance strategies, standards and policies

Ensure delivery of Safe Operations and required reporting

Manage social investment and engage in National Content development

Integrate Environmental and Social Performance in Development and company operated activities

Ensure oversight and assurance of partner operations

Monitor performance metrics for group environmental and social performance

Provide functional leadership to embedded environmental and social performance staff and own the development of Ugandan nationals

Manage environmental and community risk and provide guidance to Uganda Leadership Team.

Coordinate with functional Heads of Discipline

Ensure key Safety & Sustainability risks are identified and managed.

Provide leadership and support to operations and ensure that development planning and execution is done in line with agreed time lines and to required standards.

Build internal capacity and alignment with partners on environmental and social considerations

Build non operator framework to ensure deliver of development operations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Advanced degree in sustainability-related fields, engineering, law or business or equivalent

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Proven experience of field and corporate sustainability practices in Oil/Gas and other extractives.

Evidence of pragmatic delivery of standards

Familiar with industry best practice and recognised sustainability finance standards – IFC, Equator etc

Familiar with Crisis Management

Knowledgeable of Environmental & Social Impact Assessments and Management Plans
