The Role:
• The role will be to provide support on health, safety and environmental issues as part of the HS&E team in the pursuit of the HSE objectives of the company. The necessary personal characteristics will be enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to identify, plan, deliver, self-manage and close out individual projects

Main Duties:
o Primarily responsible for support to the Offshore Supervisor/Superintendent
o To ensure all work is undertaken in a safe manner through adherence and working to client's permit to work system.
o Implementation of effective risk assessment, behavioural safety coaching and compliance to local rules, policies and legislative requirements.
o Engagement of the workforce through one-to-one group sessions, as appropriate.
o Involvement and/or attendance at Task Risk Assessments and Tool Box Talks.
o Company's representative on Incident Investigations by carrying out Root Cause Analysis and recommending improvement actions.
o Training of personnel on safety matters (for example, Lifting Operations, Manual Handling, Working at Height, Risk Awareness, Behavioural Safety, HAVS and any other appropriate training) and Client's pro-active STOP Program and application of JUST CULTURE as required.
o Provide assurance of compliance with COSHH, LOLER, and PUWER, Working at Height, Manual Handling, and Task Risk Assessment etc.
o Provide strong interface with client Safety Officers/Coaches and Onshore Project HSE Advisor.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
o NEBOSH Diploma preferred, min NEBOSH certificate (Member of IOSH preferred)
o Incident investigation and Risk Assessment training

The ideal candidate must be able to work in a self-supervisory capacity and an experienced safety professional be able to competently carry out HSE daily inspections and audits as required. Good HSE Communication and Interpersonal skills are essential


Experience:
Knowledge of specific Oil and Gas Industry hazards: e.g. H2S/Hydrocarbon Gas/Confined Space/ Rigging and Lifting (LOLER)/Manual Handling Techniques/Hazard Identification etc. Candidate should possess a good understanding of the Risk Assessment Processes and be able to lead in this process
