The Company:
With interests in over 20 UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) fields, my Client has one of the most significant exploration and production businesses in the offshore waters of the UK.

The Role:
Safety Coaches report to the HSSE Team Lead, providing targeted HSSE support and intervention on various worksites, including offshore construction vessels. Working closely with Project Worksite/Vessel Representatives, the role will require the monitoring and influencing of contractor personnel at all levels on varied worksites and workscopes.
Safety Coach roles will involve a blend of coaching, training and advising based on sound HSSE technical knowledge and an excellent ability to identify hazards and promote effective risk assessment. The role also demands wide experience of vessel based offshore construction activities.

Key Accountabilities:
•Monitor worksite activities, assessing performance and working proactively to influence personnel at all levels to work safely.
•Promote effective ‘control of work’ practices with a strong focus on supporting effective risk assessment practices.
•Develop an excellent knowledge of required HSSE performance standards and practices, and champion their effective delivery.
•Work closely with Project Worksite Rep, coordinating activities to maximize impact.
•At all times project exemplary personal safety standards.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Practical HSE experience in high hazard industries.
•Wide experience of working offshore on construction vessels.
•NEBOSH General Certificate.
•Ability to develop strong relationships and credibility quickly with Client and Contractor personnel at all levels.
•Good communicator with the a proven ability to influence people.
•Training or experience of applying coaching techniques to safety observations and conversations.
•Flexible approach, able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities when required.
•Valid offshore medical, survival certificate, & MIST training.
•Competent to use laptop for reference documentation, email communications and reporting

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Safety Observations and Conversations (SOC) or Formal Coaching Training.
•Technician or Graduate Member of IOSH.
•Formal root cause incident investigation training qualification.
