The Role:
• Provide independent safety engineering advice to ensure that risks to personnel on the platforms are reduced to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP), thereby ensuring compliance with relevant UK safety regulations.
• Provide liaison with the Heath & Safety Executive (HSE) and the Independent Verification Body (IVB) in response to technical questions (e.g. from inspections, audits), to ensure regulatory requirements are satisfied and any adverse impact on operations is minimised.
• Participate in accident / incident investigation, employing appropriate recognized techniques, to ensure root causes are identified and remedial actions implemented.
• Monitor, record and update PFEER Performance Standard availability data. Support Production of 6 monthly trends to onshore and offshore, with remedial actions as necessary. Identify from trend data potential issues and proactively initiate corrective actions.
• Ensure that Technical Modification Requests, Concessions, Maintenance

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree qualified in a technical / engineering subject
Requires a good understanding of risk management principles in an oil industry context. This includes knowledge of relevant standards, practices and regulations, particularly as they apply within the UK. He / she should have experience of the application of safety engineering tools and techniques, particularly relating to offshore operations.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Chartered Engineer Preferred
