The Company:
A Large Independent Operating company with a large international portfolio is looking for a Safety Engineer to provide support for all aspects of HSE across their North Sea operations.

The Role:
The Safety Engineer provides specialist support, advice and guidance on all aspects of technical safety, enabling the Company in fulfilling its regulatory compliance obligations, ensuring that the company is up to date with Industry developments and best practice.

As a Safety Engineer your main duties will involve:

• Developing and management of operational Safety Cases in line with legislative requirements, conducting Thorough Reviews in line with current best practice.
• Technical safety overview of modifications projects etc.
• Coordinating and Leading technical safety risk assessment activities.
• Provision of technical safety and risk management support and advice to operational and project personnel.
• Advising operations staff on Safety Performance Standard verification & Assurance Scheme issues and conduct support visits to Operational Locations.
• Delivering Major Accident Hazard Awareness programmes for offshore operations.
• Liaison with regulatory authorities and other relevant external bodies.
• Keep up to date with scientific and legislative developments and integrate new technologies and best practice.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• An engineering degree plus a formal technical safety/risk management qualification.
• Experience in a similar position within a ‘High Reliability/Major Accident Hazard/COMAH Industry.
• Understanding of relevant statutory provisions, particularly in relation to Major Accident Hazard Management
• Experience of technical authoring and Safety Auditing.
• Experience of participating in facilitating studies.
• Knowledge of the UK, European and International industry Safety Codes and Standards.
• Experience in engineering project safety management and Safety Case Management.
