The Company:
Our client is focused on delivering design solutions to the nuclear, defence and marine industry to name a few, specialising in the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment, the design and installation of plant control systems and the provision of support to plant safety reviews.

The Role:
Our client is currently looking for an experienced Safety Engineer to start as soon as possible.

Location: Barrow

Person / Qualification Requirements:

Degree or equivalent in the appropriate discipline.
Preferably Professional Institution membership.
The candidate should have an understanding of safety legislation, the health and safety at work act and HSE guidance on safety (e.g. reducing risks, protecting people R2P2). That should include knowledge of the ALARP principle, and the concept of duty of care.

The successful candidate is likely to have experience of safety analysis work in one of the following industries: -

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The candidate should have experience of at least one of the following analysis tools/techniques: -
1. System Safety Analysis
2. Hazard ID, Hazard Analysis, PHA, SWIFT, HazOp (pre, 1, 2), Hazard log
3. Failure Modes Effects Analysis and FMECA
4. Fault tree analysis, event tree analysis
5. Accidence Sequence Modelling
6. Cause/Consequence Analysis
7. Root Cause Analysis
8. Probabilistic Safety Assessment
9. Safety Case Production (Claim argument evidence)
10. Functional Block Analysis
11. Mathematical Modelling

Salary: £40 - £45 p hour
