The Role:
Mission

The Safety Engineer shall take responsibility for giving dedicated safety engineering support to the WS/OPS Start Up team and other WS/OPS entities. This shall cover organisation of HAZOP type reviews, organizing and chairing HAZIDs, HIRAs and other risk analysis activities, development and review of procedures, and updating and modifying Performance Standards to complete ongoing work on the Operational Integrity Assessment and Verification Scheme (OIAVS). In addition to these duties, the incumbent will run an on-site modification control process and provide dedicated safety engineering support to this process to ensure urgent modifications required to debug the ICSS or facilitate commissioning progress are done in a safe and controlled manner.

Activities

Production + Maintenance Requirements
SPS/SGP interface HAZOP - coordination role, management of 3rd party
SGP Alarm management (P3 packages + HPU) - coordination role, management of 3rd party
Spool change ILT 2-2 HAZOP - coordination role, management of 3rd party
SIRGE backgassing HAZOP - coordination role, interface with project safety team
Flowrate debottlenecking review - chair / coordination role. Document review, record actions raised, closeout report
Support to PTR 4 - interface with project safety team to ensure all ops/safety actions are closed out
Ops related saftey actions - Full list of actions outstanding to be complied and closed out from previous HAZOPs / HAZIDs, ENVIDs, Aspects register, safety reviews etc.
OIAVS - Review new group PS templates and write functionality statements and complete Performance Standards with the applicable information for SGP.
OIAVS -Update/change/modify any Group Performance standards that are not applicable to SGP and agree with SE/ENG
OIAVS - Prepare new Performance standards (in line with St Fergus) where the current draft PS are written with respect to offshore installations.


Operations Requirement

Adhoc formal safety assessments - chair / coordination role. Document review, record actions raised, closeout report
Chair / coordinate complex DGS (safety reviews) i.e. equipment not ready, design deficiencies (leading to DGS or LTI)
SIMOPS - Support to ops team in development of associated procedures.
Review of procedures related to safety critical equipment
Bridging documents - Support to develop procedures.
ERT procedures - Assistance to develop procedures
Attendance at external HAZOPs, HAZIDs, safety reviews as required
Formalise and conduct Safety reviews on all operating procedures.
Follow Human Factor requirements and assist with implementation of requirements at SGP

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree qualified engineer
•Experience in the oil and gas industry, much of which will have been spent in a safety engineering role
•Familiarity with UK legislative environment, particularly COMAH, PSR, PSSR, PFEER type regulations
•Demonstrable record of an operational application of risk analysis
•Solid grounding in HAZOP, HAZID, HIRA techniques
•Valid Medical Certificate which complies with Company Standards.
•Full UK Driving Licence or equivalent.
