The Company:
Our client is a major operator with current exploration projects on a global basis. To assist in the field development and on-going delivery for Kazakhstan projects we are now looking to appoint to the project team an experienced Safety Engineer who will be tasked with monitoring safety and risk for activity FEED stage onwards.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be tasked with the following responsibility and key activities:

• Support the identification and development of risk reduction strategies and selection of appropriate risk and control methods
• Integrating risk reduction and control initiatives into the project schedule
• Coordinate activity with technical teams to find feasible solutions on safety matters
• Conducting safety analysis and monitor compliance and implementation of safety improvement plans
• Participate in technical inspections
• Carry out technical assessment of contractors and tenderers in regard to safety risk compliance
• Prepare reports on industrial and safety conditions
• Prepare required safety action plans to support project delivery to include internal reviews and representation to shareholders and JV parties

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
We are therefore keen to speak to candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Degree educated or equivelant
• Circa 10 years experience ideally working for an Operator on oil and gas projects
• Previous upstream gas field development project experience including involvement for full project life cycle from concept / FEED stage onwards
• High level knowledge in regard to industrial and fire safety, occupational health/sanitation and hygiene rules and standards - an understanding of Kazakh HSSE standards an advantage
• Previous experience in preparing regulatory submissions such as environmental impact assessments and safety
• Experience working a JV or multi stakeholder project
