The Company:
Natural gas and oil company engaged in the exploration, exploitation, development and production of onshore natural gas and oil properties.

The Role:
Primary Objective:

Coordinates the management of Safety, Health and Security requirements in regards to work being performed by contractors and employees through the operations function. Communicates regulatory information, educates and informs contractors and employees of these changes, and provides support on complex EHS issues to improve safety performance and achieve sustainable compliance with applicable regulations and company policies and procedures. This position will operate relatively autonomously and make independent decisions with little supervision.

Job Functions:
Manages a team of EHS professionals that provide direct and consultation support to JV Management and the Asset Operations group.
Directs the identification and mitigation of existing and potential health and safety risk within operational departments.
Coordinates and conducts inspections and audits of facilities where work is being performed to identify existing or potential hazards.
Manages the Safe Work Permit program, including training, JSA preparation, and supervision.
Manages the security aspects for JV operations.
Prepares, revises and documents JV EHS standards and processes.
Identifies and implements projects intended to improve JV safety performance.
Helps to develop JV guidelines and mandates.
Coordinates contractor HSSE evaluations and selection based on performance and EHS compliance while conducting work for COMPANY.
Conducts compliance and verification audits of contractors to verify information and programs submitted to IS Networld.
Communicates safety and health program requirements to ensure contractor and employee compliance with established policies and governmental regulations. Coordinates the development and implementation of compliance plans with JV operational departments.
Provides input into the JV EHS metrics through regular reporting.
Manages the incident reporting system and corrective action tracking.
Recommends corrective or preventive actions as a result of inspections and audits.
Supervises and/or conducts employee and contractor training relating to health and safety program requirements.
Participates in performing incident reporting and investigation.
Participates in the emergency response rotation as a Safety Officer

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental sciences or engineering or equivalent job experience. Knowledge of the safe work behaviors and interpretation of EHS data. Vast knowledge of Oil and Gas Operations. Minimum of 10 years EHS industry experience, with 3-5 years’ prior management experience. Experience within O&G upstream and midstream industry.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

Able to draw conclusions and recommend courses of action. Able to develop and document company EHS standards. Able to develop and implement multiple simultaneous projects. Able to communicate effectively at all levels. Able to develop and effectively deliver training material. Well organized and effective at time management. Excellent communication and team leadership skills. Computer literacy – fluent with MS Office, able to remotely access Intranet.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Ability to participate in on-site investigations.
Moderate walking and climbing on rough and steep terrain.
Moderate travel required.
