The Role:
JOB DIMENSIONS:

Monitor the safety performance of operations and provide advice on safety issues to all levels of personnel in order to ensure working practices, procedures and systems meet statutory requirements, industry and company standards.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Co-ordinate and liaise with relevant personnel to ensure safe completion of work scopes.
•Highlight any safety, health and environmental concerns to relevant parties to ensure effective follow-up and resolution.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

•Willingly and openly share good practice
•Attend risk assessment and toolbox meetings
•Update site safety procedures and documentation as required under direction of the company Safety, Security, Health & Environment Adviser
•Conduct regular Permit to Work audits
•Conduct regular Site Safety Visits
•Submit Safety Observations
•Monitor waste management and other environmental issues
•Regular site visits to ensure safe working practices
•Undertake technical and safety training relevant to site
•Stand-in for company Safety, Security, Health & Environment Adviser
•Participate in incident investigations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of safety in the petrochemical industry.
A professional safety qualification is required, e.g. NEBOSH certificate or similar.
Working knowledge of safety legislation relevant to site of safe working practices.
Competent in the techniques of safety auditing, accident investigation and reporting.
