The Role:
The joint venture company has awarded an Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC) contract to our client with a value far in excess of $1 billion, and construction man hours in excess of 14,000,000. Engineering and procurement have been under way since early 2015, and construction activity has started.

The construction labour force is expected to peak at nearly 3,000 people, and the site based construction supervision team is expected to comprise approximately 150 positions. Within these 150 positions, there are a minimum of 35 roles where the clear preference is to have our clients employees driving the successful execution of the project, and enjoying this opportunity of developing their skills in such a unique and prestigious project.


Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Site Safety Manager
• Responsibilities will depend on grade and exact scope but will include
o The safe execution of all the site construction works in accordance with the project schedule, cost and other KPIs.
o The enforcement and support necessary for safety on the site and associated areas and accommodation
o Day to day supervision and auditing of the subcontractors’ site safety supervisors
o Maintain a strong and effective professional working relationship with the Project Management, Client, interfacing EPC’s, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders
o Represent the Company in meetings with the interfacing EPC’s, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders. Lead Safety Interface meetings and record minutes of meetings with assigned sub-contractors as required.
o Support the safety and security interests of the (Offshore) Senior Project Manager at the site
o Implement the Project Safety and Security plans
o Support and promote the implementation of the Project Execution Plan
o Provide leadership to ensure prompt prioritisation and coordination of all unforeseen issues at the site, escalating to the Site Safety Manager, Construction Manager and Site Project Manager as required.
o Write regular progress reports as required by the Site Safety Manager and Site Project Manager



Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Strong construction safety management experience of large multi discipline sites
• Team Player
• Strong communicator written and oral
• Strong and effective leader and coordinator
• Organised, disciplined, able to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities and parallel tasks
• Strong Microsoft software skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Middle East project experience
• Experience of working on camp based construction sites in remote Middle East locations
• Experience of working in multicultural project teams
• Experience of working on behalf of the client rather than through an EPC

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

• Saudi Aramco experience
• Industrial gas construction experience
• Air separation construction experience
• Experience of constructing multiple repeat train projects
