The Company:
Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.

They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
Our client is looking for a Safety Risk Engineer to join there drilling and completions team.
Your duties will include but not limited to:

• Promote inherent safety principals with engineers within D&C, and that the ALARP process is followed.
• Promote and facilitate improvements in awareness of safety critical barriers for platform well integrity and drilling and completions activities.
• Support development of mooring risk assessments
• Support well construction/design promoting the use of good safety in design process to assist in the demonstration of tolerable risk and ALARP.
• Participate in HAZID and Structured What If Technique (SWIFT) workshops for platform well integrity and drilling and completions activities
• Facilitate development and maintenance of bowtie databases to support campaign risk assessments via close liaison with the campaign drilling and completion engineers.
• Assist with preparation of work scopes for well life cycle risk management of current producing assets, eg. for well intervention campaigns, decommissioning projects.
• Service delivery to Drilling & Completion engineers for defined scopes of work

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
In order to be considered you will have the ability to demonstrate knowledge, capability and competence in the following commercial, technical and interpersonal aspects:

• Tertiary safety qualifications preferred.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential, in order to influence stakeholders to accept their individual and team accountabilities for technical safety risk management.
• Knowledge and experience of safety case and major hazards facility framework preferred.
