The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Safety engineer for embedded real-time Driveline Control systems The position is for a technical specialist to support a team developing driveline systems for future products. The specific responsibilities of the role include: a) Leading the development of safety work in accordance with ISO26262 b) Producing safety documentation including the safety plan and functional safety concept c) Supporting creation of test cases to validate safety requirements d) Complete the functional safety validation reports and sign-off

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Good knowledge of V model and system engineering approach. Good working knowledge of ISO26262, in particular part 6 and 7. Knowledge of boundary diagrams Knowledge of P-diagrams Experience in Hazard Analysis & Risk Assessment Happy to work as part of team Ability to lead in delivery of documents Experience in managing requirements capture Good PC/IT skills Good communication kills
Successful delivery of a safety critical control system to meet whole world requirements/standards for a major automotive OEM or supplier (or equivalent). Responsible for developing a Safety Verification plan Experience of achieving system reliability targets using hardware and software design techniques Working on complex systems with integrated embedded SW from multiple suppliers/sources
Qualified to degree standard or equivalent in Electronics, Control Systems or Automotive/Aerospace Engineering

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of developing Failure Mode Effect Analysis documentation Experience of developing Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis documentation Experience of Fault Tree Analysis Experience of full V model process of control system development and testing
Experience in Safety Critical Systems preferred in the following fields of Electronics, Software or Control Systems
