The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
The purpose of this role is to support the Head of OHS in the development and implement of the Occupational Health and Safety management system procedures and associated tools to meet legislative and company requirements.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Development and implementation of the OH&S Management System procedures-
a) Develop, review and create OHS procedures in conjunction with OHSAS 18001
b) Develop a roll out plan of the procedures to the business

Development and implementation internal inspection and audit framework to include -
a) Develop procedure with audit tools and processes
b) Develop timetable
c) Co-ordinate audit programme
d) Review system and implement changes as appropriate

OHS IT Software
a) Support the OHS department in the implementation of the new H&S Software
b) Update procedures to reflect the new system

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience of Health and Safety Management Systems- i.e. OHSAS 18001,
• Experience of Health and Safety
• Experience in health and safety auditing or equivalent

PRACTICAL & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

Systems & processes
• Fully conversant with Microsoft Office with a high level of keyboard skills and accuracy
• Knowledge of development and implementation of OHSAS 18001H&S Management system
• Knowledge of H&S risk mitigation and control strategies
• Ability to undertake detailed analysis / research

Legislation
• knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and any developments that may affect the business

Disciplines
• Good communications skills – verbal and written
• Ability to work autonomously and determine own work schedule
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Willingness to adapt/be flexible and to support other duties that may arise within the team
• Maintaining continual personal development to ensure professional currency



QUALIFICATIONS

• A recognised H&S qualification such as a NEBOSH Certificate / IOSH managing Safely or suitable equivalent
• OHSAS 18001 Auditor (but not necessary)
