The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
Lead all sales activities for Electrical systems within the Oil and Gas business, in the UK North sea region, implementing the agreed strategy to meet the market opportunities for the growth of the business.

Main Accountabilities:
• Take a leadership role for all sales activities in the UK North Sea region – generating leads to achieving business /orders for Electrical products and systems in OGP industry
• Deliver a consistent pipeline of new business from both new and existing clients.
• Ensure that significant but realistic growth targets are set and delivered against UK North sea region. Circa £5M 2012.
• Assist with the setting of the annual budgets and provide accurate input to forecasts
• Develop a funnel / pipeline of consistent and realistic pursuit lists for the present year and upcoming next 2 years
• Regularly update internal sales tools –for eg. Prosales and participate in sales review meetings
• Engage with marketing team to promote ABB brand in Electrical products /system delivery in OGP market
• Effectively develop profitable long-term relationships within key end users and EPCs
• Set and implement a clear structure / plan for major Project Pursuits in discussion with Sales Manager , account management team and management team.
• Interact closely with the sales support team while delivering bids against RFQs.
• Support in implementing agreed risk mitigation plans during sales stage.
• Negotiating contracts with customers and closing deals with support from various teams
• Keep updates with the developments in the market, especially Oil and Gas Industry
• Ensure that the ABB standards with regards to compliance and health and safety are met.
• Manage the NPS process following up on market feedback.

• Target new investors /customers who are taking over existing assets and also freshly investing in North sea.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• An exceptional sales professional with a sound knowledge of Electrical industry/products in the oil and gas business especially in North sea region.
• Can demonstrate the ability to successfully and quickly penetrate existing market and generate realistic leads/ pursuits.
• A relevant technology based first degree
• An open communicator with developed team working skills
• Knowledge of a broad range of the oil and gas Industry
