The Role:
Position Description:-

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the EPR/EPDM sales globally. This position is accountable for the topline revenues, and growth targets for this product. This includes a key role in establishing specific details of the sales strategy, and responsibility for the implementation of this strategy. The Sales Manager will be responsible for designing, creating and managing the sales policies, and processes to run the sales activities for the EPR/EPDM business. The candidate is responsible for running the business profitably and effectively at an operational level. You will report to the Marketing & Sales Director (Specialty Polymers & Intermediates). The position requires close internal coordination with Supply Chain Planning, Logistics and Customer Service Departments. This will require external coordination with Customers, Distributers, Consultants, and stakeholders who have an impact on the business.

Duties & Responsibilities:-

The successful candidate will develop and finalize an annual, and five-year rolling Business Plan, and cascade it to operational KPIs. You will oversee operational management to ensure that business targets are met. Actively look to improve margins, expand the business, and seek new opportunities. Work collaboratively with other functions like Supply Chain to come up with practical solutions to address customer requirements, and demands. Possess an excellent understanding of the global, and regional EPR/EPDM markets with a focus on marketing, and sales, but a good overall understanding of other functional areas, especially inbound and outbound logistics, coordination/planning/forecasting, technical support, and customer service. Experience in other areas like EPR/EPDM manufacturing, and formulations is advantageous.

Hands-on practical understanding of the various end-application segments within EPR/EPDM, business, and a fair understanding of customer accounts major customer accounts, competition and industry infrastructure. A good understanding of the automotive segment, and related issues such as qualification processes are important. Prior exposure to the EPR/EPDM business & related segments is an added advantage and preferable. Good understanding of commercial & product qualification processes especially for dealing with the automotive industry. Previous experience in coordinating Logistics, Planning & Coordination, and other external partners to ensure successful order execution is essential. Demonstrated leadership and managerial capabilities to oversee the EPR/EPDM sales organization is important. The ability to think beyond the day-to-day operational boundaries, to recognize and plan for the long-term strategic opportunities and threats to the business is critical to this role. The ability to work in, and manage within matrix organizations is important for this role. You must be comfortable in dealing with different cultural practices while doing business. Prior experience in dealing with Asian markets is preferable. Candidates must have the ability to deal with difficult customers, and internal or external parties to achieve business goals. Display the ability to be firm but diplomatic in difficult circumstances with both external and internal parties. Excellent written, spoken and presentation related communication skills. Ability to represent the EPR/EPDM business externally in a leadership position.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Plastics Processing, or a related discipline. An MBA is preferred.

Candidates will need to possess a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the EPR/EPDM business with at least 5 years in a regional sales responsibility role. Experience in technical support or application development is an advantage.
