An oil and gas client in Midland, Texas.

The Role:
PURPOSE

The SCADA Technician provides expertise in the operation for SCADA & Automation systems for onshore oil & gas production facilities. This position will have accountability is assuring systems designs support HSEC, regulatory and quality.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

HSEC Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with applicable federal and state regulatory agency reporting and documentation requirements

• Participate in safety meetings for employees and ensure compliance with safety manual and other industry safety standards.

• Identify and report safety hazards, observe all safety requirements and actively strive to provide a safe work environment for company employees, customers, contractors and the public

• Perform all duties in accordance with BHP Billiton Petroleum Health, Safety and Environmental, standards, policies, and procedures.

Operational Responsibilities

• Daily functional check of all SCADA and radio communications

• Configuration of CygNet SCADA system and new wells using the Automatic Meter Request & Flow Cal system

• Input role in setting direction in the Automation and Operations function

• Basic experience/understanding in the operation & configuration of process control systems, SCADA (CygNet), AMR (Automatic Meter Request) Flow Cal, RTU, basic radio communications, PLC's, HMI systems, process historian, alarm management, meters and flow computers.

• Contractors supervision

Project Responsibilities

• Participate in work teams to develop new systems development

• Assist with the Technical specifications for the measurement related systems.

• Commissioning and start up of new systems and ongoing testing to complete successfully cut over.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Preferred:

• Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management system

• Experience in working with engineers and / or multi-disciplinary teams preferred

Minimum Requirements:

• High School or 2 degree with emphasis on applied sciences and algebra. Minimum 4 years industry related experience

• Strong technical knowledge SCADA systems, automation

• Advanced Excel spreadsheet knowledge including both mathematical and functionality formulas, multi-page workbooks, building macros and complex nested formulas.

• Windows based environment skills including Internet Explorer.

• Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts

• Must be a team player as well as a goal-oriented individual who functions with the highest level of integrity and professionalism

• Self starter and capable of working independently
