The Company:
A major oil and gas operator

The Role:
• Monitor, assess and help improve all field aspects of contractor (EPC, Subcontractor & Vendor) Work at Height (WAH) programs including:
1. Scaffolding (stationary, mobile, etc.)
2. Ladders
3. Fall protection equipment (harnesses, SRL’s, anchors, lifelines, self-rescue devices, etc)
4. Dropped object prevention
5. Aerial Lifts (JLG’s, scissorlifts, etc.)
6. Crane Manbaskets
7. Etc.
• Work with Subproject teams (EPC & Subcontractors) to monitor, assess and help improve project / site WAH programs, including incident prevention activities (e.g. walkthroughs, leading indicators, toolbox talk & work crew discussions and training, etc)
• Advise Sub-project of local SHE requirements, regulations, expectations and best practices for safe work at height
• Ensure development, implementation and monitoring of adequate WAH control processes.
• As requested, participate in WAH incident investigations and follow-up
• Facilitate and encourage heightened WAH awareness and safe behaviors throughout the project
• Facilitate regular site WAH assessments at the various Sub-project sites per WAH & Scaffold Leading Indicator checklists
• Work pro-actively Sub-project teams to identify and address WAH At Risk behaviors & conditions
• Communicate WAH initiatives, achievements, experiences and issues from other sites/projects with site team members and EPC / Subcontractor SHE and Management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Excellent knowledge of Construction Safety & WAH standards, codes and practices
• Healthy and physically able to walk / work in the field 8+ hours daily; Can climb ladders
• Highly Preferred:
 At least ten (10) years technical and management experience in scaffolding trade, including extensive knowledge in scaffold design, erection, modification, dismantling and safe work practices with stationary scaffold (tube & clamp, systems, etc.), mobile & cantilever scaffolding, and other scaffold types.
 At least eight (8) years technical and management experience in all aspects of WAH (ladder, aerial lifts, fall prevention & protection, dropped object prevention, etc.)
 WAH Qualified or Competent Person trained by recognized industry training organization
 Scaffold Training Institute (STI) knowledge and training
• Practical judgment and field experience with all aspects of WAH, Scaffolding and performing field assessments and inspections
