• Understanding of current safety legislation (BS / EN / OSHA).
• Keen awareness of management of behavioural based site safety programmes
• Deep understanding of scaffold and access systems, particularly in the onshore Oil and Gas related fields.
• Understand how to read / interpret relevant drawings , specifications, codes
• Ability to communicate effectively with contractor’s/line managers/ and supervision in English language (oral and written).
• Knowledge and understanding of company management operating systems
• Ability to advise Contractor on safe systems of access design / installation

• Promoting project HSE objectives.
• Participate in the Onshore and Offshore team Risk Management Process
• Participate in task risk assessment meetings in relation to access systems / working at height, etc.
• Advise company construction team and provide guidance to Contractor teams in all aspects of access systems at the terminal project, including HSE, Quality, schedule and cost related issues
• Ensure access systems are designed and erected in a way which supports the construction effort and in accordance with Project schedule, budget
• Monitor contractor performance and highlight any concerns to line manager.
• Assist in the Construction team Lessons Learned Process
• Providing assistance to the construction contractor for resolution of issues, (engineering, schedule, quality)
• Review and approval of procedures as necessary.
• Attending project meetings as required.
• Compilation of reports as required.
• Encourage development of Azeri National personnel
• Provide advice, coaching and training Azeri National personnel
• Assist PSCM in the process of procuring packages as required, throughout the supply chain, through to commissioning
• Mentor and assist in training of junior staff as required


• Track record of experience gained in oil and gas / petrochemical / power generation related international projects, in a similar role leading to development of the following skill sets:
a) Leading teams of construction personnel in a professional manner through all of the main aspects of a project (planning, organisation, control systems)
b) Coordinate planning activities on a daily / weekly basis and linking into schedule
c) Organising resources into work groups suitable to oversee the timely completion of the construction activities.
d) Coordinating resolution of technical issues at site level and liaising with engineering
e) Employing motivational techniques to enhance performance from employees under your control
f) Working in an advisory capacity on access systems

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HNC or equivalent in engineering discipline plus Registered incorporated engineer
Degree in engineering plus Registered chartered engineer
