The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Stability Control Systems Functions team is responsible for the design, development and integration of all SCS functions from CR to FDJ across all vehicle platforms. The SCS Functions Engineer will be required to:
• Develop Stability Control Systems from Concept Readiness to Final Data Judgement.
• Create and cascade software functional requirement to OUR CLIENT and Suppliers.
• Create technical specifications and test procedures.
• Liaising with the system supplier to ensure systems which meet Jaguar Land Rover standards.
• Establishing virtual development and validation techniques improving efficiency.
• Support studies into new technologies and techniques as required.


Additional Information:
The candidate should ideally be willing to be involved with overseas testing. Note: Typical testing locations in which the SCS department operate, depending on vehicle type & function: UK, Europe, Sweden, USA, and UAE.
An ability to support these trips when necessary would be beneficial

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Working knowledge of Control and Systems Engineering.
2. Experience of solving complex and cross-functional technical issues using a structured approach.
3. Able to develop and deliver accurate specifications in un-ambiguous technical English.

Candidates should ideally be educated to Degree level in Mechanical, Automotive or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
Excellent team-working, organisation and communication skills.
Self-motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision.
Flexible approach and able to work beyond normal working hours when required.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of Stability Control Systems and other Chassis Systems.
Vehicle Dynamics experience.
Experience of DOORS Requirements tool.
Experience using SiL & Hil Based development processes
Experience of Simulation tools
Full driving licence and the ability to progress to Class 3 and 4PG driver training level.
Note: the majority of the SCS & RSC functions operate in the region when the limits of adhesion between tyre & road surface have been exceeded. An appreciation of this operating environment would be highly beneficial.
