The Role:
Reports to the Subsea HSE Team Lead, while providing HSE support to the Flowlines and Drill Centres Project Management Teams. Primary communication lines are with Flowlines and Drill Centres Installation and Delivery Managers. Key to this role is maintaining an accurate understanding of all team workscopes and monitoring Technip Project Team’s delivery of HSSE performance, identifying and addressing any shortfalls. Within the Project HSE Team, this role supports all Seabed activities, interfacing with the Risers and Moorings Team HSE Advisor to ensure all Project activities are adequately addressed.
In 2014 key Seabed activities will include installing 15 x flowlines, and a number of structures and jumpers. The workscope may be fluid as it works around the removal of the existing Schiehallion FPSO in the first half of the year.
• Maintain an accurate understanding of all activities within the workscopes for which the Seabed Teams are responsible.
• Develop positive and constructive working relationships with the BP Project Teams supported, ensuring clear two way communication that ensures you understand what support the teams require and they are always clear about what support you are providing. Be clear at all times that HSE is the responsibility of Line Management and your role is to provide guidance and support as required.
• Develop positive and collaborative working relationships with your counterparts in the Technip Project HSE Team, maintaining a clear understanding that Technip are responsible for the delivery of safe performance in all Project activities.
• Agree the Technip HSE deliverables relevant to your workscopes with your Technip HSE counterparts, and the schedule for their delivery. Monitor delivery performance and raise quality and/or schedule concerns with relevant BP Project Team Manager and Subsea HSE Lead promptly.
• Monitor all workscopes, checking that Technip Project apply effective risk management processes as defined in their Project HSE Plan and the Technip UK Safety Management System.
• Provide an excellent HSSE example in your behaviors at all times.
• Participate in the daily vessel/worksite call, including weekends as agreed with the other members of the HSE Team.
• Agree document review requirements with Project teams and HSE Management, and ensure Sharecat DDM is maintained accordingly. Complete document reviews and feedback as required to deadlines.
• Participate in risk management activities (Preliminary Operations Reviews, Operations Reviews, HIRAs, etc) for your Project Team workscopes. Provide cover for risk management activities for other Project Teams when required. Liaise with BP Project Teams and Technip Project HSE as necessary to address any shortfalls in the delivery standards for risk management activities.
• Contribute to HSSE performance reporting as required.
• Conduct or take part in HSSE audits, assessments, and inspections as required.
• Monitor Technip’s follow-up and close out of all incidents related to your workscopes. Where shortfalls in performance occur, work with Technip HSE and Management as required to promote the effective identification of causes, required mitigations and the sharing of lessons that can be learned.
• Provide coaching, training and guidance for HSE subjects related to Project activities as required. Be prepared to travel offshore to provide support at worksites as required.
• Monitor the BOSS performance of the Project Teams you support, working to ensure full participation by team members.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• At least 5 years practical HSE experience in high hazard industries
• Experience of working at offshore construction sites
• NEBOSH General Certificate
• Highly motivated self-starter
• Team player with well-developed people skills and a proven ability to influence people at all levels
• Has prerequisites to allow offshore travel

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience of working in an HSE Advisor role for a North Sea Operator
• NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health
• Chartered Membership of IOSH
• Formal root cause investigation training qualification
