The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
Scope -
Deliver Engineering systems and components to meet the requirements of the project Brochure Responsible for the specification and design & developments including test and validation plan to achieve the cost, weigh, timing and quality targets for the project. Achieve engineering sign off for systems and components in area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities -
1. Support and Lead Design Development
Advances awareness of Design and development techniques and technology in area responsibility.
Advanced ability to capture and specify the design requirements in area of responsibility.
Deliver the engineering test & validation planning and sign off for systems and components in area of responsibility
Support Engineering release and change management process

2. Delivery of Projects
Responsible for planning and managing project related activities on a weekly basis
Reporting of project status for area of responsibility in functional area.
Intermediate understanding of cross functional working with other areas of the business
Active participation working with suppliers for progressing project deliverables
Basic financial awareness of their role in the organisation.
Knowledge of cost of parts and systems with an understanding of value engineering

3. Problem Solving
Ability to solve complex Engineering and design related problems.
Analysis and management of several design related issues to identify the root cause
Collect data, manage data and analyse data to produce reports as appropriate and progress design guidelines

4. Developing and maintaining Specialist Knowledge
Responsible for keeping the local team up to date with technology in area of responsibility.
Capture learning from previous experience.
Understand and maintain liaison with group partners to keep up to date with latest group developments

Qualifications -
Engineering Degree or equivalent
Associate membership of a relevant professional intuition Preferable

Skills & Experience -
Good design and development skills that can be applied across the department with particular focus on seating structures, seat comfort or plastic moulding technology and mechanisms
Knowledge of Catia V5 to enable open discussions and the preparation of presentation material
Good methodical approach to problem solving with knowledge of the appropriate techniques required
Good communication skills required to communicate technical issues at various levels in different forums across the company
Ability to influence colleagues within your area of responsibility
Understanding of financial limits within area of responsibility
An understanding of German language is preferable
Practical and Technical Knowledge
A good understanding or detailed knowledge of one or more of the Following
Seat Structures
Seat Comfort including soft foam and seat cover construction
Seat comfort systems-heating/ventilation and lumbar/massage systems
Plastic moulding technology including material selection
Head restraints and mechanisms
A knowledge of legislation relating to seating systems incorporating Europe, RoW and Federal requirements
Understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP)
