The Role:
Main Purpose of the Role

To provide expert theoretical and practical capability, to be aware of, and to understand in detail, the latest developments in the relevant vehicle systems and to select and to engineer appropriate systems and components into the company's product.

Scope of the Role

- Responsible for the definition and development of Secondary Air & Vacuum Systems for turbocharged petrol engine Powertrains.
- Support package engineers in design of acceptable installation for owned systems.
- Creation of system specifications, DFMEA’s, validation requirements and management of activities to ensure these are met and risks/ issues identified and resolved.
- Release of components via Bentley company systems.
- Interaction with all levels up to ‘Head of Dept.’ across the business, particularly with Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing & Suppliers.
- Be responsible for running of cross-functional design reviews to resolve issues and report/deliver to project milestones.
- Development of system timing plans.
- Maintain awareness of latest developments within the automotive industry for secondary air and vacuum systems.

Qualifications & Experience

- Engineering degree/ HND minimum.
- Automotive background strongly prefered.
- Experience in design & development of Powertrain systems, preferably including Secondary and Vacuum, is desirable.
