Our Client is one of the world's largest Oil and Gas companies. Their operations cover the entire energy chain, including oil exploration and production to trading, shipping and refining and marketing of petroleum products, as well as chemicals. Our Client has operations in over 130 countries and has more than 95,000 employees worldwide.

The Role:
The Secretary will be a part of the Development Studies & Planning team within Business Development (see below).

“The main objectives for Business Development are: -
Look after the existing business interests and pursue new business opportunities for the Company.
Manage the transportation and sales of the Company’s hydrocarbons.
Be the primary point of contact with JV partners.
Provide economic evaluation and development engineering support across the Company.
Manage corporate planning and preparation of the Long Term Plan.
In order to achieve these key objectives, the department is divided into six teams, namely;
New Business – Progress new business opportunities and establish the commercial arrangements to realise these opportunities.
Commercial Operations - Manage the contractual aspects of oil, gas and natural gas liquids transportation and sales, including hydrocarbon accounting and allocation, both as operator (Frigg UK pipeline) and as a non-operator.
Joint Ventures – Act as the focal point for communication with JV partners on operated assets, and protect the Company’s interests in assets operated by third parties, by representing the Company on the Operating Committees.
Strategy & Economics – Carry out economic evaluation of projects and business opportunities, co-ordinate the preparation of the Long Term Plan, and monitor the company's strategic position in the UKCS.
Development Studies & Planning - Perform all development studies, and manage the centralised planning of activities.
Geoscience Research Centre - conducts applied research in Geosciences to assist the company's Exploration and Production teams
