The Company:
Our Client are a major petrochemical company in Qatar.

The Role:

The incumbent will have the overall responsibility in the development and maintenance of a fit-for-purpose controls, governance, risk & assurance framework for Finance activities within the Company, monitoring and reporting all assurance activities.

• Support the Finance Controller in contributing to the achievement of Company’s vision by taking initiatives in improving Company’s risk management, general business assurance including governance structures and financial controls.
• Contribute toward the formulation of strategy, policies and procedures of Finance Department to support organizational business strategy.
• Assist the Finance Controller in meeting set targets and objectives of Company’s Finance function.

• Work closely with business to develop, appraise and keep up-to-date a robust Business Controls framework that is fit for purpose and cost effective and in accordance with Company policies, guidelines and procedures
• Subject matter expert and the key Focal Point for Company Controls Framework documents and the related Finance procedure; their maintenance, clarification and periodic challenge and review, to ensure continued alignment with the evolving organization
• Ensuring that all business controls, both manual and system, are properly documented in Company Business control procedures and any changes in the organization and process are identified early and properly reflected in the control procedures and documentation
• Drive regular business process performance reviews and challenge current practices with an aim to identify opportunities for Company and cost improvements and intervention to mitigate potential down side risks

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, or other related discipline from a recognized university.
Minimum 8 years of related experience of which a minimum of 2 – 3 years should be in a similar position/responsibility, preferably in a similar industry.
Strong Finance background preferred, specifically in the Controls and Accounting area but the exposure with Finance in the Business and/or Project finance areas.
Proficiency in governance, assurance and control areas and knowledge of finance and non-finance control systems
