The Role:
The Security Coordinator is a key member of the BWI HESQ team and must possess the skills to provide strategic leadership and direction to BWI project management.
The Security Coordinator’s role includes the provision of specialist and technical security advice and guidance, ensures security resources are effectively utilized, ensures that security assurance program remains effective. This position is a FIFO 28/28 rotation.

Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Development of BWI Emergency and Security Plans
• Establishing Emergency and Security goals and objectives
• Security response and planning
• Assist in cyclone preparation planning
• Assist in fire Fighting capability and training
• Emergency drills and exercises
• Site surveillance
• Access controls
• Search and penetration tests
• Perform Emergency and Security risk assessments
• Maintain a Security Key Register
• Ensure contract security provider remains effective
• Manage the security incident reporting system including the provision of reports to the HSEQ Execution Manager and the Security Manager, Perth.
• Provides support and guidance to BWI HSEQ Execution Manager
• Manages BWI photo ID card system
• Provide support during the Proximity Card Reader control system installation
• Performs emergency and security audits and risk assessments
• Maintains Security Performance metrics for security service providers and monitors their performance
• Prepares a consolidated Monthly Security Report

• Manage relevant HSS communications process as per the Project HSS Management System
• Manage compliance in-line with the audit and Inspection program of the Company and contractors.
• Ensure all scheduled Project Emergency / Security Company and Contractor audits and Inspections area performed and actions address/closeout in a timely manner.
• Ensure the reporting and documentation of incidents / injuries are investigated and records maintained.
• Compile reports to the management as directed.
• Document and report any aspect of non-compliance to the agreed strategies policies and directives issued and to initiate preventative actions as required. Stop work on work-sites if required.

• Manage the security incident reporting system
• Provides positive support and guidance to Emergency Group staff
• Assist the establishment, implementation and management of emergency response protocols across BWI including fire and cyclone emergency preparedness and management
• Manage the project site Drug & Alcohol program goals and objectives on BWI
• Supervision of the AOD program and resources
• Supervision and support of the Injury Case Management resources and program on BWI
• Assist with liaison & interface with WA Police, Customs and all regulatory and legislative bodies on BWI

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Senior level position with broad technical Emergency and Security Management skills with in-depth working knowledge of project management arrangements
2. Knowledge of emergency and security strategies
3. Technical competence in emergency and security risk assessment; regulatory interpretation, human factors, emergency and security management systems.
4. 10+ years broad-based security management experience preferred
5. 5+ years in a emergency or security managerial role
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
7. Effective coaching: understands and articulates performance expectations and is effective in communicating these to project personnel.
8. Extensive organizational skill: possesses initiative to independently manage a diverse workload of changing security priorities and ability to maintain continuity in times of organizational change
9. Ability to assess and act on project security resource needs
10. Strong communication skills
