The Role:
"The Field QC duties will include but not be limited to the following:
a) Work with Company’s seismic contractor to achieve seismic acquisition goals related to HES, economics, operations and technical efficiency and quality;
b) Supervise gravity, surveying, recording, uphole/refraction profile operations and field processing;
c) Provide oversight of all field operations including land access permitting and verification of status of permits and compensation for damages caused by the recording of each seismic line;
d) Provide daily technical oversight of the seismic operations including supervision and QC of all instrument tests of the recording equipment on a daily and monthly basis as well as at the beginning and through the duration of the seismic acquisition program;
e) QA/QC all aspects of the acquisition including surveying, uphole/refraction profile recording, seismic Data recording and field processing;
f) Submit reports to Company per seismic line: Field record evaluation (low energy, parity errors, noise level, positioning errors, frequency content), source point move/skids, receiver point move/skips, dead traces, displaced or recovered shots and any others factors that affect seismic data quality and its control.
g) Participate in and make recommendations for acquisition parameters based on parameter testing for both explosive and vibroseis source including peak particle velocity testing and analysis;
h) Position Quality Control ensuring that Company Work Standards as well as industry best practices are being followed.
i) Conduct daily revision and QC of the survey geometry incorporating all Company approved changes and ensuring that any proposed changes are made according to Company’s land seismic acquisition contract specifications and the technical requirements of the survey design while reducing risk and exposure to personnel and equipment;
j) In relation to Reports: Verify that the seismic acquisition contractor deliver the daily, weekly and monthly reports specified in the Service Order of Company’s land seismic acquisition contract. Reports generated by the seismic acquisition contractor should be approved by the Field QC and the Field QC shall request the necessary corrections if the report cannot be approved.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
a) Ten (10) years experience in managing all aspects of large 2D or 3D seismic acquisition programs including planning, operations, technical and HES functions in a variety of terrains and environments.
b) Experience managing a team
c) Demonstrable experience with seismic acquisition including QA / QC processes and procedures on a minimum of four (4) comparable seismic projects.
d) Experience with PPV analysis and determination of minimum permissible offset distances for explosive and vibroseis sources.
e) Experienced in QA/QC of 2D or 3D seismic operations including field processing and seismic acquisition contractor recording and processing systems.
f) Extensive knowledge of industry standards for 2D and 3D seismic operations including International Association of Geophysical Contractors (“IAGC”), Oil and Gas Producers (“OGP”) and industry best practices."
