The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Role:
The Onshore Project Coordinator is the representative for geophysical and geotechnical field operations associated with major projects in Eastern Canada.

As an OnShore Project Coordinator your main duties will involve:

• Provide a regular interface between St. John’s (Canada) based business unit(s) with Houston based Geophysical Operations (GeOps) project team.
• Participate in project related planning activities including liaison with various groups (both internal and external) to define scope of work, prioritize acquisition plans, provide cost estimates or any such activity related to the project.
• Review all relevant documents for the project, assess the documents quality and completeness and provide guidance on quality gaps to ensure full compliance withthe client's processes
• Provide regular update on work progress and advice of any potential critical issues.
• Coordinate project related activities between both internal and external groups and provide advice on both technical and SHE&S issues specific to the project.
• Participate in planning or SHE&S meetings with the contractor on behalf of the client and/or as team member of the project team.
• Participate in daily operations meeting during the course of field activity, advise Project Lead of significant issues and provide daily update of ongoing operations, forward plans etc.
• Provide guidance to field personnel and onboard company representatives such as Technical / SHE&S QC’s.
• Participate in regulatory planning meetings; provide support to regulatory groups on regulatory filings.
• Be available to travel to offshore survey vessel during the course of survey activity - on as needed basis, to provide guidance on technical issues, monitor SHE&S compliance or any other project related issues.
• Participate in incident investigations if required.
• Assist in technical audits (instruments and positioning accuracy) to assess compliance with ExxonMobil audit and contract requirements, as well as regulatory and industry standards.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
As an OnShore Project Coordinator you will have experience:
Minimum of 20 years of experience in the geophysical industry OR a 4 year degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 10 years of work experience in the geophysical industry.
• Knowledge of Seismic and Shallow Sea Bed Acquisition techniques
• Understanding of Industry Safety, Security, Health, and Environmental (SSH&E) standards
• Experience with seismic and geotechnical equipment operations and positioning,
• Able to adjust accordingly to company contracting procedures, Risk Assessment procedures, general regulatory requirements, reporting requirements, and an awareness of Operation Integrity Management System (OIMS) procedures
• Highly developed communications skills interface management, auditing and assessing operations, and problem solving.
