The Company:
Our client (big foreign company in oil&gas sphere) opened positions for 12 Seismic QC/QA Supervisor – Geophysicist in Western Siberia (rotation):

Fluent Russian &English srtictly required. Eligibility to work in RF is strictly required.

The Role:
oEnsure the compliance of the contract signed between the seismic contractor and COMPANY.

oReview periodic instrument tests (daily and monthly), to ensure that the recording system is functioning to the manufacturer’s specifications. Monitor geophone and cable tests to ensure that they meet contractual standards and that a rotational schedule of maintenance is being observed. Keep records of all QC data.

oEnsure that all field data acquisition parameters are strictly adhered to and check observer’s reports for accuracy and legibility.

oMonitor survey methods to ensure that line positioning is within required accuracies and in agreement with programmed pre-plot locations.

oVerify that acquisition tests, if required, are done according to the proposed program and parameters and ensure a complete report is made on time.

oEnsure that receiver arrays are accurately laid out and geophones are firmly planted and well buried.

oEnsure that Upholes, WRRS, LVL… are registered according to COMPANY specifications.

oReview daily and periodic vibrator and Impulse source tests and ensure that each unit is operating within contractual standards.

oMonitor line clearance work to ensure that all crew personnel have safe access to the seismic lines and that acceptable clearance lead is maintained.

oCheck method of computation of static corrections if applicable and accuracy of derived values.

oVerify the integrity of the seismic/positioning data merge.

oReview processing flows used on in-field data processing system to ensure that optimum quality seismic sections are being produced in a timely fashion for QC purposes.

oAdvise Company of any infractions of safety standards and assist (if required) in investigation of any accident or near-miss.

oParticipate in periodic safety meetings with Seismic Contractor’s personnel.

oEnsure that all working practices are environmentally acceptable.

oMaintain a log of all data shipments, particularly magnetic tapes, and advise Company of any delays in the dispatch of material which may adversely affect the processing of the data.

oKeep records of the consumption of all reimbursable materials such that Seismic Contractor’s invoices can be verified.

oReview and certify amount of data acquired for the period to be invoiced.

oEnsure that all compensation/damages claims are settled fairly and promptly and in accordance with rates approved by local government authorities.

oRegularly discuss with Seismic Contractor’s management methods of improving the efficiency of the seismic survey and of reducing costs where possible.

oMaintain detailed records of all production figures from the seismic crew and agree these daily with the Party Manager such that they can be reconciled against Seismic Contractor’s monthly invoices.

oSubmit daily progress reports to Company detailing work completed, work in progress and project costs to date. Keep Company advised of any potential cost over-run or delay in project completion.

oSubmit a comprehensive and fully documented independent report on Seismic Contractor’s performance on completion of project. The report should mention quality control procedures, techniques used to improve data quality or production rates and problems encountered which prevented any of the survey’s objectives from being realized and should be supported by photographs. Recommendations for future work must be included. Internal COMPANY report must be fulfilled every day.

oEnsure all field and necessary support data is delivered to the processing centre as stated in the contract

oThe Project Coordinator shall be the focal point for the QC team’s communication with the Company.

oSeismic QC will be the leader of the QCs COMPANY Team (Technical-QC, HSE-QC) and the only communication channel between Contractors and Company.

oEnsure that all the equipment included in the Contractor´s offer is available and operative during the Mobilization.

oTo ensure that the PPV meter is being used every time the crew approaches any structure and the safety distances are strictly applied.

oTo ensure application of requirements those come from Project Manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Preferably, QC supervisors and HSE will already have experience in the area. Fluent English and Russian, spoken and written are required. Some knowledge of Spanish is desirable. Proposal personnel must be fit in accordance with UKOOA or equivalent medical requirements.

More than 10years experience in seismic operations. Geophysicist or equivalent qualifications. HSE Knowledge (Demonstrable) Strong Knowledge of seismic data processing, with knowledge of working in frozen environments and using both Vibroseis and Impulsive sources. Practical and social intelligence, team management skills, good communication & presentation techniques.
