The Company:
Our client is a leading International EPC/M organisation who is engaged in some of the worlds largest and most technically challenging Oil & Gas projects currently under execution.

The Role:
We are currently sourcing Senior 2D Draughtsmen (2) to join the North West Office on an Agency hire basis.

As part of a long term alliance with a major Oil & Gas client based in Kuwait we are undertaking FEED and detail design to support major revamp and modification projects modernising the Client’s production facilities at WAFRA. Typical projects include gas processing plant, water injection and water treatment facilities, steam injection pilot plant and automation upgrades.



The candidates will be Senior SmartPlant P&ID and AutoCAD Draughtsmen with a substantial, recent and proven track record of large onshore oil and gas, refinery or petrochemical projects and should be able to demonstrate experience, in a similar and relevant senior position, of FEED and detail design work.


Good communication and presentation skills are essential.



The individual must be self-motivated and able to demonstrate substantial experience in the use of SmartPlant P&ID and AutoCAD v12. Checking of other draughtsman’s work will also be expected.



Core Responsibilities:


Creating and thereafter maintaining Project 2D Design Criteria, Specifications and Standards.
Independent preparation of 2D CAD drawings using SmartPlant P&ID and AutoCAD v12 in compliance with project and Client requirements and with due regard to the appropriate industry standards.
Candidates should be innovative, with true commitment to minimisation of cost whilst maintaining technical integrity.
Efficient and accurate interpretation of Clients, Licensors and other design disciplines information to ensure strict quality standards and project deadlines are met.
Liaising with other design disciplines on a regular basis and in a professional manner
Participation in drawing reviews
Preparing accurate and reliable progress reports and forecasts for the Lead Piping Engineer.



Specific Accountabilities:


Efficiently executing 2D CAD design activities as directed by the Project Lead Piping Engineer.
Ensure that the applicable company systems are used, that the relevant QA procedures and standards are followed and that the 2D deliverables within his area of responsibility conform to contract specific requirements and any applicable Client, company, national and international standards
Identify deviations and input data inconsistencies and thereafter resolve conflicts where appropriate.
Complete all work within the estimated manhour budget and in a timely manner to ensure that project deadlines are me, maintaining own work progress (budget and schedule) and identifying scope change where necessary.
Working accurately and always within the provisions and guidelines of the Company Quality Assurance system or that relevant to the Project.
Safety – responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Project. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
AutoCAD v12 (essential)

SmartPlant P&ID (essential)

AVEVA Draft (preferred)

Significant experience in Oil & Gas FEED and EPC Design Projects in a similar role and with similar design Clients and Design Contractors.

Broad expertise and proven track record of preparation of 2D CAD drawings using SmartPlant P&ID and AutoCAD v12 in compliance with appropriate industry standards.

Proven decision making and problem solving abilities

Proven record of client satisfaction

Excellent communication and coordination skills.






Academic/Professional Qualifications:




HNC (preferred) or ONC in Engineering. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of academic qualifications
