The Role:
Purpose:
• The incumbent is a member of Reporting & Service Team, reporting to Chief Accountant with major responsibility for managing robust in areas of Tax preparation and advisory using his/her knowledge of tax legislation ensuring Taxes are paid in compliance with Tax Law and as well as in the most efficient way and benefit from tax advantages and exemptions if any.
• Maximise VAT refund.
• Accounting System Administration and Assistance in G&A Cost Allocation are other objectives.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1) Tax Services
• Keep up to date with changes of Tax laws
• Advise Finance and Other Departments on Tax implementation and Tax Impacts making sure company is in compliance with Tax requirements.
•Gathering and process information to prepare monthly tax returns of VAT, PIT and Foreign Contractor Withholding Tax and associated with journal entries for 3 Blocks; making sure fully in compliance with tax requirements
• Prepare the Annual Tax finalisation and submission to Tax Authority
• Reconciliation information in Tax Returns with accounting ledgers
• Timely submit Tax Return/ Tax Claim to the Tax Authority and following up until tax claims are refunded
• Assist HR in providing information to Deloitte for Expat PIT declaration. It’s required to classify staff salary and benefits in detailed categories of Tax and Non Taxable income to minimise tax impact to company.
• Submit reports required by the Tax Authority including report for usage of VAT invoice.
• Coordinator for Tax Audit when required
• Estimate Cash Required for Tax Payables
2) G&A Cost Allocation
• Prepare and input JV for staff salary and benefits and PIT monthly, including accrual for those are not invoiced
• Check G&A Costs before allocation making sure that costs are booked fully and properly
• Prepare G&A Allocation and input entries making sure cost properly allocated to Blocks on a fair basis and in compliance with allocation method approved by Partners and PVN
• Provide actual G&A Report to HR
• Issue Debit Note to back charge cost allocation between Blocks and ensure quarterly clear out the Intercompany Accounts
3) Accounting System Administration:
• Create Cost Codes (e.g. account code, code name, supplier code, employee code etc.) when required
• Update Chart of Account when required
• Update forms e.g. cash advance, expense claims etc.
4) Booking related bank charges
• Monthly booking related bank charges e.g. bank interest etc.
Ad-hoc work as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• University degrees in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Banking or Accounting
• 5 years of working experience with at least 3 years in Petroleum Industry
• Competent in MS office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Competent in Accounting Software

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Expert knowledge in Tax Legislation
• Accuracy characteristic
• Highly organised and detail oriented
• Great verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate subject matter;
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Team work: ability with work with others / Departments constructively to make real difference.
• Time management skill
• Being able to work under pressure
