The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Maximum of 5 relating to products, services etc.)

1. Delivery of Projects / Products
Responsible for planning and managing project related activities on a Daily/Weekly basis. Responsible for timely part structuring for all aspects of build in line with PEP milestones and deliverables.
Reporting of project status for area of responsibility in functional area. Responsible for developing and maintaining vehicle specification (incl formal change) related technical knowledge/capability consistent with relevant Systems and Processes.
Provide structure support for X-Business functions, where relevant.
Integral role in part release.
Assignment of PR codes to applicable systems and processes.

. Advanced understanding of cross functional working with other areas of the business. Active participation in working cross-business for progressing project deliverables. Basic financial awareness of their role in the organisation. Knowledge of financial impact of specification change.
2. Data Accuracy
Accountable for the self-monitoring of data accuracy, and capable of generating Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) allowing total project / product visibility and thereby demonstrating both measurable, and successful achievement.
3. Problem Solving
Ability to solve complex Design and Logistical structure problems. Analysis and management of several structure related issues to identify the root cause.
Collect, manage and analyse data to produce reports/presentations as appropriate and progress structuring status. Deliver presentations at appropriate level.
4. Developing and maintaining Specialist knowledge
Responsible for keeping the functional area up-to-date with technology in area of responsibility. Capture learning from previous experience. Understand and maintain liaison with VW group partners to keep up to date with latest group developments and influence decisions if appropriate.
5. Ability to work within a team
Able to work effectively in a Business cross-functional team. Responsible to contribute to deliver team objectives.
Ability to develop appropriate documentation and training material for the team and affected cross-functional business areas to support local processes and systems used.


SPECIFIC INFORMATION FOR ROLE
(such as sales volumes, production volume, number of bought parts etc.)

Feature Control:
Generate/maintain Product Description Books and Country Matrices.
Manage MBT system. Ensure correct configuration of PR numbers (feature codes) and rules

Change Tracking:
Coordinate the evaluation and implementation of changes to parts which are developed elsewhere in Group and apply to Client.

Functional BoM Rep:
Provide two-way point of contact and technical expert support and direction between PDS and Engineering functions.

Colour Configuration:
Interpret and administer the colour codes set out by the Colour Steering Committee, into the FAKOM system for all colour relevant parts.

Vehicle Data structure and configuration:
Provide quality, configured vehicle specifications in area of data and/or geometry.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• High level of analytical data analysis and interpretation
• Competent in understanding and/or creating vehicle specifications
• Adept in multiple data handling systems, e.g. VW Group systems, Excel, BO, LCA, etc.
• Able to work accurately under pressure with rigorous attention to detail
• Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums
• Ability to influence colleagues within your area of responsibility
• Understanding of financial impact within area of responsibility
• Relevant experience in the automotive industry would be advantageous
• German language skill desirable


PRACTICAL & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
Significant advanced knowledge of:
• Technical product descriptions & feature content, e.g. PDB, TPB, TPD, Steckbrief, etc.
• Bills of material structuring philosophies, incl. Platform & Baukasten (BK & MBK)
• Client process and systems, e. g. PEP, Group Standards, BMG, DSL, AVON, TI-Syncro,
• Geometry structuring philosophy, e.g. LCA, KVS
• Knowledge of problem solving methodology and tools


QUALIFICATIONS
• Education to degree level or equivalent or proven experience in Engineering, BoM or Logistics diciplines.

• Responsibility for ensuring that local Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed in order to ensure own safety and the safety of others.
