The Company:
Our client is a market leader within the energy sector, with a project presence in over 30 countries worldwide. Here in Australia, they are involved in one of the largest LNG projects with operations spanning exploration, production and downstream.

The Role:
An analytical and SAP experienced Budget and Forecast professional is now being sought for our client's expanding finance team as a Senior Budget and Forecast Analyst. This 3 year max term position on an employee basis not only provides longevity but also an excellent remuneration package. The ideal candidate will report to the Principal Budget and Forecast Accountant and as a senior member of the finance team you will be coaching and providing talent management services to the Budget and Forecast team.
As the successful candidate your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Co-ordinate the annual budget process and quarterly forecast process.
  • Development and maintenance of Budget and Forecast system and application.
  • Assist in the preparation of Work Program & Budget documents.
  • Complete budget Balance Sheet, P&L and high level cash outlook for all Australian entities.
  • Oversee LNG panel reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash calls.
  • Review and update budget policy and procedural documents.
  • Document processes and controls in the Finance Management System.
  • Collaborate with and support the internal audit teams.
  • Power user in SAP modules within the Management Accounting team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Essential undergraduate degree in Accounting.
  • CPA/CA/CIMA or similar internationally recognised qualification.
  • Mandatory experience of at least 7 years of SAP with working knowledge in MM, PM, BW, FI,CO and PS modules.
  • Essential experience of at least 5 years within a costing/management accountant or similar position.
  • Essential experience of at least 5 years within a financial or joint venture accounting team.
  • Experience within E&P operations, projects, exploration and manufacturing/production.
  • Experience within mining, energy or Oil and Gas companies, ideally an Exploration and Production major.
  • Desired experience in working with business planning processes inclusive of asset reference plans and life cycle costing.
